Product or Service

Thousands of years ago, most people were illiterate and utilized symbols to indicate their wares. Today, not much has changed. For instance, the Nike logo is just a swish, but you know the “who” and the “what” when you see that simple symbol.

Your logo should effectively communicate your product or service within a few seconds. You probably do not have the marketing capital of Nike, so you will need to be a bit more specific.

Types of Logos

  • Symbol or Icon

Simple symbols or icons represents a company in a boldly with highly stylized graphics for visual interest. A human brain easily remembers a simple form much easier than a complex one.

  • Wordmark

Wordmarks spell out the company or brand name. Sometimes, custom fonts are created specifically to use across all their marketing collateral.

  • Lettermark

Lettermarks are exclusively typographic. They use a symbol representing the company through the use of its initials or the brands first letter.

  • Combination Mark

Combination Marks combine a wordmark and a symbol or icon. It provides flexibility to use of either or both elements across a variety of applications and looks just as good with the elements separate as it does with them together.
